Negril, Jamacia

Submitted by Michele Wilson Pegasus Travel agent

I traveled to Negril Jamacia for a wedding.  It took place at The Moon Dance Villas and they were amazing (neither I nor any member of the wedding party could think of a single negative).  This is a wonderful property, especially for someone getting married.  Only one wedding is held each day, and the ceremonies are BEAUTIFUL.  The weddings are usually held around 4:30 â€" perfect timing for sunset pictures.  Each Villa has its own personal Chef, bartender, and housekeeper.  The all-inclusive feature cost an additional $115/adult/night.  The two Villas we rented were the Ginger Breeze (5 bedroom 1500-1900 a night) and the Azure Sky (4 bedroom 1400-1800 a night).  Some of the other guests stayed at the Moon Dance Cliffs â€" also very beautiful.  The Cliff's location does not have a beach, however.  I also visited

resort.  Good property for those on a budget, who enjoy seclusion.  I would recommend this for couples who want to spend time together.  Not a good spot for singles â€" just because there are not a lot of people at the resort.  The beach was very nice, restaurants were okay (only 2 on the property).  This resort can be booked as an all-inclusive package or not.  I would recommend booking with the all-inclusive meal plan. The property is not very well lit at night so hard to find your way around

Moon Dance - Food was superb; menu items include lobster, shrimp, crab, and fruit daily.  Moon Dance also set up a snorkeling excursion for the family.  It was wonderful!  A member of our group is quadriplegic, and the staff was able to get his wheelchair on the boat so he could join the family.  They also buried plywood on parts of the beach so he could enjoy the views.

â€" Has a free glass bottom boat ride daily.  It was beautiful.

We really enjoyed the beaches, sunsets and people.  Everyone was so nice, constant hellos and making sure we were "Irie”  The sunsets were amazing!!

The

Village

resort rents out several of its rooms to local people.  The rooms could really use some updating.  This is also located on the far North end of the 7 mile beach, so if a person wants to visit other properties or experience nightlife they would need to take a cab.

Point

Village

is also located next door to Hedonism.

Beach bums as well as active people would love this are.  There are so many options for excursions â€" a 7 day vacation (or more) is perfect.

Some tips to share - bring small bills â€" lots of 1's and 5's; many times they will not offer change.  Also, discuss cab prices before accepting a ride (cabs are hard to find after 10pm, so a person should book their return in advance).  At Point Village, bring your own cups (their cups are very small).

We also went to Ricks Cafe â€" such an awesome bar, with a great view.
