Christmas at Bursch Travel, Austin MN
Merry Christmas from Austin, MN! Each year, local businesses participate in a fun night the Thursday following Thanksgiving. Families to come by and take part in holiday festivities, games, and even get to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, all free of charge.
Most of the business in the Sterling Shopping Center participate, plus a few other businesses in the SW part of town. They each have something unique to offer, from cookie decorating to inflatables for the kids to bounce in. And as always, Santa is at Main Street (name of a business next to us). Santa poses for pictures with the kids next to their fireplace – a favorite for many each year. That said, many children come in their Christmas best, which is always fun to see!
Our Bursch Travel office has popcorn each year but added a spin game for the kids. Our agent, Edie, got some help with the popcorn from her dad. Don't be confused - it's not Santa. (Although the beard, belly and smile are REAL!) Not to be left out, we also had a drawing for the "big kids." One lucky winner received a one night hotel stay at the Best Western Plus in Minneapolis!
The weather was nice and boy did the community come out – nearly 500 people! Although our whole office is now covered in popcorn, it was worth it for a successful and heartwarming event.
