Stayed at: Disneyland Hotel
This resort is an older hotel however it is kept up beautifully. It is very nice to be within walking distance to Downtown Disney and the Theme Parks. The rooms were nicely furnished and we had a small refrigerator in them. The beds were comfy, but the room was a bit worn. But we didn't spend a lot of time there. The hotel has a great breakfast & dinner with Goofy and friends, however nothing like a food court where you can get different quick service items. Not a lot of dining or food options at this hotel, but downtown Disney is right out the door.
The pool is very nice and big, themed after Peterpan. There is also a 2nd pool that is more of a quiet pool.

It was nice to be able to walk to Downtown Disney. We really enjoyed California Adventure Theme Park. This one was a little bit of Epcot & Hollywood Studios rolled into one theme park with a seaside California twist!!

There aren't a lot grab and go food options; but a lot of sit down restaurants. Disneyland is much smaller than Disney World. With only two theme parks you wouldn't have to spend an entire week.

Families with small kids would enjoy Disneyland because of the size. It is much easier to get around two theme parks. It is also good for shorter getaways. You could easily see Disneyland in 3-4 days.

Bring some snacks along with you or rent a car so you can go off property to eat or get some snacks for your room. Take the dining plan. It is a value!
